London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games: the legacy
arc aims to generate 1,000 jobs by 2015 through its support for social enterprise.
“If you get on the underground and travel seven stops from Westminster in the Parliament district to Stratford in the heart of the Olympic Park, you would lose a year in life expectancy at every stop”
Seb Coe, Chair, London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games.

The areas surrounding the Olympic Park are some of the most deprived boroughs and communities in the country. The host borough area covers Greenwich, Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets, and Waltham Forest and its 1.25 million residents are less likely to do well at school, get a good job or earn a living wage than residents in any other area of London or the UK.
Hosting the Olympic and Paralympic Games presents a unique opportunity for the economic and social regeneration of the area and arc sees the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games as a catalyst to generate 1,000 jobs over four years through its support for social enterprise.
arc will harness the energy and passion of the social enterprise movement, connecting social entrepreneurs with the best of business to produce wide-reaching and sustainable benefits for East London. See how we're helping social enterprises.
In recognition of this, the London 2012 Inspire Programme has granted arc the Inspire mark, given to exceptional and innovative projects inspired by the 2012 Games.
